State Tournament

West began their pursuit of a state championship in the state tournament on July 26.

Their first round game against Renner resulted in a 4-0 loss. Zach Tanghe was the lone West pitcher. The starter gave it his all, going six innings and allowing three earned runs, but West struggled to score runs at the plate.

West combined to strikeout 13 times and left eight men on base.

Camden Gadbois's walkoff single in the bottom of the eighth erased a seven-run Aberdeen comeback in game 2 as West defeated Aberdeen 11-10 in extra innings.

It was a strong day at the plate for West as they combined for 10 hits. Bennett Yellowbird III collected two hits in three trips to the plate. Aberdeen committed six errors in their one-run loss.

West won their second straight game, this time against East on July 27.

Mitchell Willis and Jackson Albertsen combined to go five innings without allowing a run. Robert Feiock doubled and Gadbois, the hero in West's previous win, tripled to help the West offense take care of East.

Watertown squeezed by West in West's final game of the tournament on July 28.

The two teams were knotted up at three going into the seventh when Watertown scored to take a one-run lead. West wasn't able to respond in the bottom half of the inning and fell, 4-3. Robert Feiock and Michael Zeman doubled in the loss.

West ended their season 24-26.
