Winning Six of their Last Eight, East Looks to Keep their Momentum Heading into Postseason Play

Notable games in the final two weeks of play consisted of losing a pair of games in a double header to Watertown and going 2-3 in the Rapid City Weekend Tournament July 12 through the 14.

Double Headers in Yankton, at home against Brookings and in the state capital to finish made up for a busy final week of play in the regular season for East. 

East has won six of their last eight, including scoring double digits in runs in four different games. Besides allowing 18 runs in their July 21 loss vs. Brookings, East's pitching and defense have also been strong.

East's record stands at 26-20. The were able to earn the third seed in the region tournament. The team will face city-rival West on July 24 at 2:30 in Harrisburg.

Tyler Boyum leads the way for the East offense as he is batting .404 and has 27 RBIs. Evan Hammer has driven in 33 runs at the plate while scoring 55 runs.

Dimitri Haan, Dayne Bartels and Braiden Heiden each have seven or more wins for the pitching staff. Bartels has struck out 51 batters in 12 games pitched.

East and West split their regular season matchups with East winning,10-6 on June 6 and West winning most recently on July 18, 5-4.
