July 10 Double Header vs. Harrisburg

It was a week to remember for East. The week started with a double header sweep against Harrisburg at Harmodon Park. The team scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a one run lead and earn a 9-8 victory. Ryan Husman's home run followed a hit-by-pitch to start the rally for East.

24 runs were scored in game 2 between the two teams in game 2. In the end, it was East who rallied once again late in the game to defeat Harrisburg. East's monster inning featured 10 runs, another Ryan Husman home run, five hits, three walks and three Harrisburg errors.

Mid-Summer Classic July 13 through 15

The red-hot East team took the field against 13/14 West to open up play in the Mid-Summer Classic in Sioux Falls on July 13. East would defeat West, 13-1. Peyton Lamb did not allow an earned run and struck out six in his four innings pitched.

East, who swept Harrisburg in a double header earlier in the week, would face them once again on July 14. East would continue to dominate Harrisburg as they would go on to win, 9-4. Tristan Fitzsimmons was a home run shy of the cycle, going 3-4 with a single, double and triple.

The team would have a balanced attack in the next two games against Yankton and Brookings to earn a 4-2 and a 6-3 wins, respectively.

A  4-0 weekend earned East spot in the championship game, in which they would face off with 13/14 East. 13U stayed hot and became the champions by defeating 13/14 East, 9-2. Lincoln Vasgaard pitched a complete game as Ryan Husman was one of five East hitters to have two-or-more hits.
