July 5 vs. Vermillion

West opened up their post-Fourth of July part of their season on July 5 on the road against Vermillion for a night double header.  It was a disappointing night for West, who was defeated 15-0 in game 1 and then fell 12-1 in game 2.  Vermillion's pitching staff held West to just one hit in both games.

July 6 vs. Pierre

West returned to Sioux Falls the next day and battled Pierre for two games. The home team was victorious in game 1 as West earned a 6-2 win. Dexter Payne pitched five strong innings which included striking out seven and giving up just one earned run. July 8 vs. East

A Sunday showdown with East was next for West on July 8 at Harmodon Park. East's seven-run inning was too much for West as they were held scoreless for the 4 1/2 innings played. A wild, high-scoring game ended the day for both teams as East defeated West to earn the double header sweep, 13-11. Noah Goodroad collected three RBIs off of two singles for West.
