JOB DESCRIPTION

The position involves supervising assigned youth baseball complexes for the Sioux Empire Baseball Association for the spring and summer. Site Directors will assist in the administration of league competition which may include; field preparation, umpire scheduling, umpire supervision, and other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned by the Association office. Hours will range from approximately 3:30-9:30 pm (depending on location) on all dates of league play. Individuals must possess the ability to work cooperatively with participants, parents, coaches, and umpires as well as possess knowledge of the sports of baseball. Individuals must be capable of lifting 60 lbs, and have a general knowledge of competition administration, scheduling, and supervision of umpires, as well as sufficient communication skills in order to function effectively in a dynamic and fluid environment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED AND/OR DESIRED:
  • Comfortable working with children and parents.
  • Sufficient baseball/athletic competition administrative knowledge.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Rudimentary/general mechanical skills.
  • Dependability.
  • Salary: $500-$2,500 per season
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure game day competition fields are marked and bases secured.
  • Administer the securing and storage of all bases and umpire equipment upon completion of   competitions.
  • Administer the scheduling and implementation of all complex umpires if needed.
  • Ensure that complex umpires are in compliance with League dress, demeanor, and professional standards.
  • Submit written reports of all incidents involving coaches, umpires, parents, and participants to Association Office if necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison to Association Office in regards to facility or league supply/equipment requirements.
