In South Dakota, baseball is not a sanctioned sport governed by SDHSAA. Within Sioux Falls, the Sioux Empire Baseball Association facilitates the high school baseball programs on behalf of the Sioux Falls School District and Bishop O'Gorman School District. Each participant pays an annual fee which is utilized for equipment/apparel, indoor practice space, outdoor game space, coaching salaries, umpire fees, and other necessary items needed to facilitate a successful high school baseball program.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW: 
Maximum Players per Program: 54 Participants

Optional Captain's Practice begins: Week of January 5th

Mandatory Tryout Practices begin: March 2nd, 2026
Athletes who are completing their Winter Sport will join tryout practices following the completion of their season.

Roster Deadline Date: March 16th, 2026
Note: This deadline is regarding program cuts, not which team a player will be placed on within their program.
Note: Players who are cut from their program will receive a full refund less processing fees and any apparel they have received.

Game Information:
Varsity
- 25 to 30 scheduled regular season games
- Regional Tournament at Top 8 Seeds: May 14th through 16th, 2026
- State Tournament at To Be Determined Location: May 22nd and May 23rd, 2026
Sub-Varsity
- 20 to 25 scheduled regular season games
- Year End Tournament in Sioux Falls and Harrisburg: May 8th and May 9th, 2026

Note: Efforts are made to reschedule games, but many times is not feasible due to availability of involved programs, field space, and the desire to not overload teams with too many scheduled games in a given week.
