The Association is currently accepting applications for the following positions for the 2008 spring and summer baseball seasons.

I. Concession Coordinators   Application Form

    Sites: Covell Lake, Pasley, and Harmodon Complexes

Job Description:  

The Sioux Empire Baseball Association is currently accepting applications for Concession Stand Coordinators for the spring and summer of 2008.  Responsibilities will include: product ordering and stocking, menu prep work, end of the day accounting of proceeds, and general housekeeping tasks.  Individuals are encouraged to have a valid drivers license, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with patrons and supervisors.  Hours will range from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM Monday thru Friday and occasionally on weekends.  Great summer job for high school students, college students on summer break, or retirees.

II. Site Directors  Application Form

     Sites: Elmwood, Covell Lake, Pasley, and Harmodon Complexes

Job Description:

Positions involve supervising assigned baseball complex for the Sioux Empire Baseball Association.  The Site Director will assist in the administration of league competition which shall include: field preparation, game supervision, and other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned by the Association office.  Hours will range from 3:30 – 8:30 PM on all dates of league play.  Individuals must possess the ability to work cooperatively with participants, parents, coaches, and umpires as well as possess knowledge of the sport of baseball.  Individual must be capable of lifting 60 lbs, and have a general knowledge of competition administration, scheduling and supervision of umpires, as well as sufficient communication skills in order to function effectively in a dynamic and fluid environment.  

III. Head And Assistant Baseball Coaches  Application Form

Job Description:

The Sioux Empire Baseball Association is currently accepting applications for Head and Assistant Baseball Coaches for its High School, VFW, and Legion Spring and Summer programs.  Candidates must demonstrate previous coaching/playing experience on the secondary or post-secondary level and must demonstrate and posses the ability to administrate and instruct competitive youth baseball.

IV. Umpires Application Form

Job Description:

The Sioux Empire Baseball Association is currently accepting applications for Umpires for League and Tournament games for leagues 9 Yr. through Legion.  Games for our High School league begin around the first of April.  Summer leagues begin around May 22.  Candidates should demonstrate a knowledge of baseball rules and have an ability to work with adults and children. 

V. Athletic Intern    Summer of 2008

The Sioux Empire Baseball Association is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Intern for the summer of 2008.

General Description of Internship: The position involves assisting the Director and Assistant Director of the Sioux Empire Baseball Association in the operations of leagues, tournaments, and clinics during the summer of 2008.  In this capacity, the Administrative Assistant will be assigned responsibilities in the following areas: data entry of league and tournament information, organization and dissemination of league and tournament information to participating teams and coaches, game day tournament operations, league supervision, supervision of seasonal employees, dissemination of information to league and advanced team coaches, and other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned by Association supervisors.  

Position Requirements:

Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.  Candidates who have experience working with special needs children or individuals who  are currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education,  Sports Management, Education, or Child Development are preferred.  Individuals should possess general computer skills and familiarity with Word, Excel, Front Page, and Publisher. Candidates are required to work cooperatively with participants, parents, coaches, and staff.

VI. Administrative Assistant
