7 Legal Duties Of A Coach

 

 

 

1.       Adequate supervision. General and specific to the game.

 

2.       Sound planning: Progress of skills is essential.  Plan instruction and drills. 

 

3.       Inherent risks:  Repeat warnings to players of dangerous risks and dangerous

             techniques.

 

4.       Safe playing environment.  Provide safe field conditions and equipment.

 

 

5.       Evaluating athletes disabilities:  Evaluate player’s injuries and incapacitates

             to determine limits of participation. This includes mental, physical and even

             child abuse situations.

 

      6.    Matching or equating opponents.  Match to size, age, and physical ability.  More

             body contact requires closer attention.

 

      7.    Emergency first aid procedures: Establish procedures for an emergency.  Where

             is help and a phone? Do not assist in first aid unless qualified or a life

             threatening situation exists.

 

The success of the Sioux Empire Baseball Association depends on the desire and efforts

of our coaches in making our leagues participants experience an overwhelmingly

enjoyable, healthy, and successful experience.  We are here to serve and assist our kids!
