Camps, Clinics, Lessons & Training opportunities for a variety of ages will be offered at our new SEBA Facility on 1321 N. Cleveland Ave. 

Stay tuned for High School Pre-season Hitting, Post 15 Middle School Academy, One Day Camps, Umpire Clinics, SEBA League Camps.

Available for 6th - 7th - 8th Graders

APRIL SEBA LEAGUE CAMPS

Grades K-2 Offered only on Sundays

Grades 3 - 6th - Four options: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

PITCHING INSTRUCTOR

Layne Somsen, a native of Yankton, SD., joined the SEBA staff in 2017 and is in charge of pitcher development. Somsen graduated from South Dakota State University in 2013 with a degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation and earned his Master’s in
Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2019.
During his time at SDSU, Somsen was a standout pitcher for the Jackrabbits. After his senior season, he was named Summit League Pitcher of the Year posting a 4-5 record with a 1.87 ERA in 91.1 innings pitched. Somsen struck out 91 batters, while holding
opponents to a .196 batting average. He finished his career ranked fourth on the school’s all-time list in games started (38), strikeouts (180) and innings pitched (215).
Upon graduation, Somsen was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and has since played in the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations. Over his 7-year career, Somsen played at every level, (Rookie, A-, A+, AA, AAA, MLB), of professional baseball. Over 284 career innings, Somsen holds a 20-9 record with 290 strikeouts.

HITTING INSTRUCTOR

Jeffrey Campbell, a native of Clearwater, Fl, has been with SEBA since 2018. He has worked as the Assistant Director – Player Development, running offseason academy, camps and clinics, and coaching Jr. Legion East. This year his focus will be on the offensive side.
Jeffrey holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Where he played baseball all 4 years from 2012-2015. He played a variety of positions from 1 st base to the OF and even was a starting pitcher his first three years before he moved into the closer role during his senior year. In 2012 Jeffrey was selected to the Freshman All-American team along with being named Newcomer of the year and 1st team all-conference for the Great West Conference. In his career he hit .303 with 32 HR, 43 2B, 222 H and 162 RBI. He finished 2nd all time in Total Bases (373), RBI (162) and doubles (43) and fourth in homers (32). After the 2015 season he competed and won the 2015 College Home Run Derby. In 2015 Jeffrey went on to play a season in the Atlanta Braves organization for the Danville Braves. He hit .277 in 25 G with 9 2B.
